Bring back the sun!

Summer. Aztec. Festival.  Summer is always the perfect time to bring out the bright colours hidden from view during those long winter months. If new to experimenting with unusual patterns and colours, pairing a daring top, or cami with a plainer piece, such as this black dip skirt from missguided.co.uk.

Even if it's raining, colourful clothes confirm the season!

Good Question

  • Live in another country?
  • Speak other languages?
  • Have a job in fashion?
  • Be a leader?
I like this question. It makes you actually think; is there actually anything that holds us back or is it all in the mind?

harmony of colours

I'm currently doing a project on Antoni Gaudí, a famous Spanish architect, and it has to be said that the interior of La Sagrada Familia is breathtakingly impressive.

Time to sparkle!

So its nearly the festive season and I must admit being at university (with a increasingly tight budget, I might add) doesn't really help to get you in a very festive mood!

That's where clothes come in, specifically sequined garments. On trend at the moment, sequin shorts/ knickers are on my wishlist this Christmas! One of my favorites are from Marks & Spencer:
The bronze colour is a little more unusual and defined, which will definitely make it a stand out piece when part of any outfit.
However black shorts are essential and I've got my heart set on this pair from Miss Selfridge:

Better get saving those pennies, anyone up for Secret Santa this year..?

University life: The things they don't tell you

1. Doing your laundry is so stressful. Be prepared to loose money in machines that don't work and be prepared to do laundry at 3 in the morning just to avoid looking foolish when you do!
2. A good dinner is when you have more than one variety of food on your plate, and no, chips with chips do not count.
3. Alarms (clocks included) are your worst enemies. Besides the lecturers that cancel 9am lectures when your already there.
4. Dominoes pizzas are a godsend after tequila shots.
5. Clubbing in flats is so much easier.
6. Even though the first year doesn't count they still love to make sure you have ample amounts of essays and work to do, and then they make it compulsory.
7. That £3,000 that we paid for tuition fees doesn't seem to cover much of our tuition.
8. Waffles are your best friend. You can toast them, and have a 'meal' in 2 minutes.
9. Oh, and don't allow your friend to  invite that guy and his friend back to your flat when drunk, they'll only end up breaking your plate.
10. Buy ANY fancy dress you can find and always own a onesie, you'll wear it more than any other type of clothing.

Trying to keep A-level head..

For many people around the country last Thursday was a make it or break it day. For me it was a horrible day. I was one of those people who had received great grades but I didn't get my place at the university I had applied for. It then meant that I had one day to sort out potentially the next four years of my life. Crazy scary.
Although I was very lucky to find a place at another University, lots didn't secure a place anywhere. Personally I find the whole University system in the United Kingdom, too complex and very backward. After learning about the way universities are run in North America, it makes me wonder why we have the system we do.
They always say that University days are some of the best days of your life, and after the stress that we go through, I really hope that they are.
